You really can have it all; Ritchey's WCS C-220 stem features revolutionary stiffness and classically inspired good looks, but it’s quick and easy to install and remove thanks to a press-fit handlebar clamp interface and forward-facing hardware. The C-220 handlebar clamp design creates a more secure interface by wrapping a full 220 degrees over the handlebar. Bolt forces are aligned with the clamp so that the stem body ‘embraces’ the handlebar, which is less prone to damaging lightweight bars. The BB30 bottom bracket allows you to pair 30mm spindle cranks to 42mm inner diameter bottom bracket shells. Cannondale pioneered this standard along with specially-designed cranks and many have found the benefits to them. Road versions have a 68mm width, MTB has 73mm. These are also the bearings you can use to replace bearings in PF30 cups. You have two bearing choices. The first choice is our low drag, long life Standard Bearing, with hardened-steel races and our super-round CeramicSpeed balls. The second choice is our Coated Bearing, which uses those same balls installed on coated, hardened-steel races for longer life and less bearing drag. BB30 was designed to make the bike lighter: no cups, threading, or redundant metal, plus a lighter, stiffer crank. That's why the crank spindle is 30mm, which was a big jump up from square-taper spindles. CeramicSpeed standard bearings typically have frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set. That's in the range of a 75% drag reduction compared to standard bottom brackets. That's thanks to balls that are 100% smoother and 15% harder than the ceramic competition.
